China to improve Indian ties through education in Bengal
The first Chinese minister to visit India after the Doklam impasse, landed in Bengal yesterday. The visit of the Organisation Department head of Yunnan Province and central committee member of Communist Party of China, Li Xiaosan, strategically started the relation-building mission from Bengal. Chinese consul general Ma Zhanwu said: ‘Bengal has been identified as educational and cultural hub of India and hence we are looking to improve ties through education in this zone.’
A meeting is slated today between officials of Jadavpur University, Visva Bharati, Calcutta University, Rabindra Bharati University and Chinese officials to discuss on education and student exchange programs.
