First female cricketer to get CAB membership
As the world watched Indian girls performing like World Champions on the cricket field, one cricketer did attract everyones attention. And she is none other than Jhulan Goswami, the ace bowler of Indian Womens Cricket team. To honour this world famous female bowler, The Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) has decided to give her honorary membership.
This is indeed rare as she will be the first woman ever to get such a membership. Till now, only men could be members of CAB. The decision was taken at a recent CAB meeting to recognize Jhulan's super bowling performance at the recent Women's World Cup, that India lost by a narrow margin. She will be felicitated on 8th August at Netaji Indoor Stadium by Bengal chief minister, Mamata Banerjee. The cricket association will also give her 10 lakhs as reward.
