Good News! Burdwan University will start new Corona Testing laboratory

Now people of Burdwan and nearby districts will no more be sent to other districts or Kolkata for Corona Testing, as Burdwan University ties up with Burdwan Medical College in setting up COVID-19 Testing Laboratory. The tests will be done in ‘Real-Time PCR’ technology and at a time around 95 samples can be tested. The Molecular Biology and Human Genetics laboratory of Burdwan University already is a well-known centre for tests on Thalassemia and Cancer. Now with specially trained technicians this well-stocked laboratory will show a new direction in Corona testing for people of the two Burdwan districts and adjoining areas.

As number of testings are increasing, it is all the more needed to have such laboratories in the districts so as to decrease the load on the Central Testing labs of Kolkata. The laboratory is waiting for the ICMR nod to start its operations.
