HISTORIC! Calcutta University finally includes Third Gender option in all admission forms

Since long there was a demand to include the ‘Third Gender’ in the admission and application forms of Calcutta University. Finally, on Friday CU chancellor Sonali Chakraborty Banerjee told the media from this week a big change is coming. In all forms of CU along with Male, Female, a Third Gender option will also be highlighted.

These forms include all graduation and post-graduation courses. Even as per Supreme Court orders the third gender that in India refers to the LGBTQ community all fellowships and grants application forms will also have this option. The Gay rights activists have welcomed this decision of Calcutta University.
