Tollywood heart-throb Dev is planning to seek permission to shoot a movie based on the lives and sacrifices of three freedom fighters at the iconic red bricked building of Writers’. The three prominent freedom fighters Benoy Basu, Badal Gupta and Dinesh Gupta had fought the British during the Indian freedom struggle. They are famous for killing British inspector general of prisons, Col N.S. Simpson, who was notorious for his brutal oppression. On 8th December 1930, they had entered the Writers’ Building, dressed as Europeans and shot him dead.

If the actor gets a green signal to shoot at Writers’ Building, it would be the first in Indian cinema where a historic building is turned to a character in the movie. Dev will be playing Dinesh Gupta and the movie is being directed by Kamaleshwar Mukherjee. The shooting is expected to begin next year.
