“Korola-Chingri” - a must try for all fish lovers

More than three months! As most of the people are still stuck at home, every other person is seen indulging in cooking experimentation and other creative work. Fortunately, we too are rustling up home-cooked meals that are easy to put together yet delectable. 

Craving for something zingy and tasty? Try this out! 


Bitter gourd [korola] 2 (cut into fine vertical pieces)
Potato 1 (finely sliced)
Prawns [chingri] 250 grams
Minced onion 1 cup
Sliced green chilies 4
Chili powder 1 teaspoon
Turmeric powder 1 teaspoon
Coriander powder 1 teaspoon
Oil, salt and water as per need


Marinate the prawns with salt and turmeric for sometime. Pour some oil in pan and shallow fry the fish and keep it aside. Add some more oil in the pan and heat it. Add the minced onions and cook until golden brown followed by the fish, other ingredients (a bit of water) and keep cooking the same. Add the bitter gourd and potatoes. Stir them for a minute or and two and cover the pan till the vegetable get tender. After 10-15 minutes, uncover and stir till the water gets dried up. The dish is ready to be served with steamed rice.
