Not to miss Durga Puja Carnival on Red Road tomorrow

Durga Puja is an emotion that never ends. And keeping this emotion intact, the state government every year gives a befitting end to the Durga Puja celebrations through a fabulous Durga Puja Carnival. This year the signature Red Road Carnival will take place tomorrow. According to the state information and culture department, around 80 idols from Kolkata and various district puja committees will be part of this carnival.

The idols will reach the venue by 2pm and as the carnival with processions and theme songs and dance will continue along the Red Road, there will be around 5,000 spectators that will not just include general public but also number of foreign delegates and foreign tourists. This carnival hence will to a large extent carry the news of Bengal’s rich culture and heritage along with the colours of one of the world’s largest street festival to the whole world. This year the podium from where Chief Minister, Mamata Banerjee, will flag off the carnival and the foreign delegates will be seated has been built showcasing the exquisite Terracota work of Bankura. This will help to take the terracotta craft of Bengal to the international forum.
